The Chinese New Year Parade has been an annual San Francisco tradition since just after the Gold Rush. Over 100 units will participate in the Southwest Airlines’ Chinese New Year Parade.
The San Francisco lunar new year parade is one of a kind, with spectacular floats, numerous marching bands, colorful costumes, lion dances, and the ever popular Golden Dragon (“Gum Lung”) which is 288 feet long and carried by a large team of trained martial artists. There will be many celebrities participating, including the beautiful and talented Miss Chinatown U.S.A. and her court. This is one parade that is surely not to be missed, come rain or come shine.

"Just wanted to express my thanks to the volunteers...at the museum for their wonderful hospitality...Was a beautiful presentation of the history as well as a cultural imprint of Chinese immigration in this valley...Thank you once again and it was such a pleasure."
