Ching Ming, Grave Sweeping Day, is a traditional Chinese celebration honoring ancestors. On this day, families visit the cemeteries of their ancestors to pay their respects with offerings of flowers, incense, imitation paper money, and food. This custom originated in ancient times and is still celebrated today.
"My father and I had a wonderful time spending the afternoon at the Chinese American Historical Museum. The presentation that the teens put on about the history of the Chinese working on the railroads and the racial injustice was very well done...We enjoyed talking with everyone so much and learned a lot while we were there."
