The Chinese American WWII Veterans Recognition Project enters its 5th year with great anticipation for the ceremonial awarding of the Congressional Gold Medal to over 3,000 Chinese American World War II Veterans who have applied and been confirmed for this honor.
While the Project will continue to accept applications and information about veterans for its historical value as long as their website continues its current web presence, the decision has been made to discontinue the awarding of a “no-cost” Medal for applications received after February 28, 2021, 11:59:59 pm EST. Applications received after that date may still be reviewed (and if approved) for the purpose of having a veteran’s name listed on the website, but the veteran and/or family must make their own arrangements to purchase their Chinese American WWII Congressional Gold Medal directly from the U.S. Mint.
For questions about eligibility to receive a bronze replica of the Congressional Gold Medal, please visit the Chinese American WWII Veterans Recognition Project FAQ webpage.
To purchase a replica of the Congressional Gold Medal, visit the U.S. Mint webpage.
"Thank you so much for taking the time to speak to our class about the rich Chinese American history present here in San Jose. Many of the students did not know that these buildings were here, much less the history, and it was very eye-opening to learn."
