The San Jose J-Town FilmFest will be screening Connie Young Yu’s documentary, Digging to Chinatown, at the Japanese American Museum of San Jose (JAMsj). CHCP Advisory Board Member/historian Connie Young Yu, teamed with documentarian Barre Fong, to document the story of Heinlenville, the original Chinatown buried under today’s Japantown. Connie Young Yu also authored the book Chinatown, San Jose USA.

Program includes a conversation with producer/historian/author Connie Young Yu, historical preservationist Leslie Masunaga, filmmaker Barre Fong and moderator Tom Izu of the California Historical Center.
