History Days: The Immigrant Experience @ History Park SJ

CHCP will participate in History San Jose’s first event in its 2015 Hands-on History Days series on February 22, 2015, a special day of hands-on activities for Silicon Valley Reads which focuses on the immigrant experience in Santa Clara Valley.

Events will include:

• Scavenger hunt through History Park featuring immigrant experiences both past and present
• Crafts focusing on the diverse cultures represented at History Park
• Poetry workshop by Poetry Center San Jose
• Printing demonstration by the Printers Guild
• Films created by the Digital Clubhouse Network
• Historic trolley rides

Additional events sponsored by CHCP will include:

• Chinese American Historical Museum (CAHM) open 12-4 pm (CAHM will be part of History Park’s scavenger hunt)
• Story time reading of Belle Yang’s book “Hannah is my Name,”
  2nd floor of CAHM starting at 12:15 pm and every 60 minutes thereafter
