The Silicon Valley Asian Pacific FilmFest (SVAPF) is a volunteer-run film festival showcasing independent films primarily by Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) filmmakers. This year’s film festival is virtual and offers 70+ online movie screenings.
CHCP is a Community Sponsor and a Benefactor of the film “Tiger Spirit: Chinese American WWII Veterans of the China-Burma-India Theatre“ which is featured as part of the 75 Year Remembrance film package. (NOTE: Showing for the 75 Year Remembrance package starts from October 8th thru October 12th, while the “Tiger Spirit” film will become available starting the evening of October 8th.) The impetus for this film was a series of interviews of Chinese American WWII Veterans conducted by CHCP’s Student Docent Cultural Ambassador Program.
“2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII. This film tells the stories of Chinese American soldiers who fought and lived to tell of their exploits in the China-Burma-India campaigns; they helped change the course of history.”

"Thank you so much for taking the time to speak to our class about the rich Chinese American history present here in San Jose. Many of the students did not know that these buildings were here, much less the history, and it was very eye-opening to learn."
